Looking forward to seeing some familiar faces when returning to the University of Derby for the private view of the Images 35 exhibition on Monday. The exhibition, which consists of work from the Images 35 annual, is currently on tour around the UK and will be at the Markeaton Street Campus until 4th February 2012. Today will see the result of the referendum election. Whatever the result it's certainly an issue that has divided the opinion of David Cameron and Nick Clegg.

Postcard design to be exhibited at Deda from 5-9 May (although Deda is closed on 8 May) as part of the Art Postcards exhibition. The exhibition will feature the work of artists practising in various mediums all of which is up for sale. All money raised will go towards the Fine Art Department at the University of Derby.
Given the cause I thought it would be good to focus on something local choosing the moth balling of the Silk Mill Museum as the topic. This is just one of the many industrial buildings in the city that is currently having a major effect on my work.

This week I moved into a studio space at Banks' Mill Studios in Derby, which is shared with Seed Creativity (the creators of From Dusk 2 Dawn magazine) and fellow illustrator Lawrence Cox. The move will see me continue to work closely with the company having frequently produced both visual and written work for From Dusk 2 Dawn over the last few months. Although we've only been inhabiting the space for a few days it's already beginning to feel like home and an environment fit for getting creative, which should be beneficial for everyone.

This piece titled 'New Year Flu Crisis' will be exhibited at the Surface Gallery in Nottingham as part of the International Postcard Show and Exchange 2011. The annually held exhibition will be open to the public from 18-29th January showcasing work from a range of art disciplines displayed in postcard format. My design was inspired by the firework display in London combined with the outbreak of flu, which saw over 700 people hospitalised by the virus. I would like to wish all those suffering from the flu virus a full and speedy recovery and hope that all those who attend the exhibition enjoy the fabulous range of artwork on offer.
